It’s an exciting time for MexiBBQ, the Mexican/barbecue spot on 30th Ave that’s about to celebrate its six-year anniversary. The two main highlights? LOTS of beer, and a cool twist on brunch.

Tonight, September 24, they’ll be debuting a Twilight Brunch, which is just as awesome as it sounds. From 11pm to about 2am, they’ll be offering their normal brunch deal, which is a great value: with the purchase of an entree and an additional $16, you can enjoy unlimited Bloody Marys, mimosas, sangria, select beer on tap, and screwdrivers. Pretty sweet, right?

MexiBBQ has also made a bold statement: they claim to have the best beer selection in Astoria. Those are strong words, but they’re backed up by 48 taps, including an impressive selection of local brews (Singlecut, Other Half, and Iconyc, just to name a few!) And, with fall in full swing, they’ve got our pumpkin beer cravings covered, featuring Southern Tier’s Pumking, Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, and Saranac Pumpkin Ale.

In addition to new menu items, like heavenly Sliced Pork Belly, they’re also teaming up with a street burger and taco stand to serve up simple eats late nights when the kitchen closes. We’re talking sliders, tacos, and quesadillas, all inexpensive options that you can bring right back to the bar while you enjoy your drinks.

It’s always fun to see veteran restaurants switch things up. We’re looking forward to enjoying many beers at MexiBBQ this fall. See you there!
