After an impassioned email sent out late last month, it looks like The Giving Tree Yoga Studio, will be relocating in the near future after a decade on 31st Street.

The Giving Tree, which offers not only a variety of yoga classes but also massage therapy services, guided meditations, and more, explained that originally, the plan was to transfer operations to a new owner, but plans fell through and the space was forced to close on the first of January. Combined with the chaos of the holidays, the future was looking precarious.

The Giving Tree Yoga closes

Before closing their old location, the studio sold off its stock of yoga blocks, mats, neck pillows, and much more.

However, thanks to community concern and support, The Giving Tree will keep on trucking, and are currently looking for a new space, either temporary or permanent. During this time, they’ve advised members that memberships and packages are currently on hold while they search for a space, but that all memberships and packages will be honored in full when they secure a space.

They’re also advising people that refunds are not available at this time, but that they’ll be working to get things back to normal as soon as possible. If anyone knows of any possible available spaces, they’re welcoming any suggestions. You can reach out on Facebook. We’ll keep you posted on any new developments!

UPDATE: The Giving Tree recently announced that they will be hosting classes again starting Sunday, January 13 at various locations, including UBNY and Gym-mazing. Check their website and Facebook for more information.

We Heart Astoria and community in this beautiful neighborhood –
Thank you so much for sharing this and adding much needed support during this challenging transition. After 12 days of being closed, we are just getting our heads above water after reopening yesterday in a new location on 23rd avenue/28th street. The two rooms are right next to each other at 27-18 and 27-14 23rd ave (with QED in between!) and will serve in the interim until we secure a permanent home for The Giving Tree. Thank you to Tina from Gym-azing and Daniel from Unlimited Body NY for having an open-ended agreement with us until we secure a permanent home for our students and teachers. Our biggest concern was getting up and running so our community would be able to return to teaching and taking yoga as quickly as possible! All memberships that were placed on hold from 1/1/19-1/12/19 went active yesterday without any loss of value or time. We are thrilled to offer our full schedule with all your favorite teachers right around the corner from our old location…and it’s on the ground floor so no need to climb those 30+ steps! Please keep your eyes and ears open for ideal locations so we may secure a permanent home ASAP! In the next week or two, we are hoping to add back our Kids Yoga class on Fridays at 4:15pm. Please check our website and FB page for the latest information.

All our love and gratitude for your prayers and visualizing this into manifestation,
Anne-Margaret and Anthony
