Get ready, its… Honey/cinnamon ice cream with pieces of galaktoboureko and baklava from Artopolis Bakery. This makes a lot of sense, as Astoria is still considered a Greek neighborhood despite the expandig diversity here, and Artopolis makes some of the best Greek pastries around. This ice cream flavor reminds me a lot of the special We Heart Astoria ice cream flavor at Malu (RIP) back in 2013—that time around it was simply baklava ice cream, a flavor that you, our readers, chose (click on this link to see what the other contenders were at the time). And it was delicious. Also, they are opening the new shop (34-02 30th Avenue) on or very close to June 11. Very exciting! We look forward to seeing the deliciousness they bring to the neighborhood.
