Are you guys watching Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris? No? You should be. Last week we were thrilled to see local Astorian Steven Tarca win $5,000 in cash, a bathtub full of Snickers bars, a hoverboard, tickets to the Broadway production of “Spring Awakening,” kitchen appliances from Cuisinart and a diamond necklace (I know, right?!) during their segment ‘Get Lucky’, we reached out for quick little Q&A. So, let’s get to it!

1. How’d you hear about Best Time Ever?

I heard about BTE mainly through social media initially but I soon learned more about it as I saw it advertised across the city.  Once I heard about it being based off of “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway”, I watched a little of its British counterpart.  I was hooked!

2. What was your favorite part of the show, other than winning all those amazing prizes?

Seeing Cee Lo Green sing “Forget You” was really cool.  It was also cool to see Tyler Perry and so many other celebrities!

3. Who’d you go to the show with?

I went with my roommate from college, who also lives in Astoria.  We’ve been close friends for over 10 years when we met during our freshman year at Wagner College on Staten Island.

4. How long have you lived in Astoria?

I relocated to Astoria from Orlando, Florida about a year ago.  It’s always been known to me as a place with great culture, food, and people.  I would be hard pressed to find a better neighborhood!

5. Favorite Astoria hangout/dinner spot?

This is a tough one, but it is a tie between The Queens Kickshaw (AMAZING soups and grilled cheeses!) and Sugar Freak (INCREDIBLE Cajun cooking).

6. What’s the best part about living in Queens?

I love Astoria for its people and it’s accessibility.  Astoria makes my daily commute to midtown Manhattan so easy!  I also love the fact that our neighborhood is safe and family friendly.  As my work schedule fluctuates, I am always at ease traveling to and from work.

(ps- did you know BTE is actually filmed right here in Astoria?! Read all about it here.)
