Well, looks like there’s another clue as to what is the deal with the new restaurant (by the folks from Bareburger) in the old Athens Cafe space. It’s a stencil of some dude—not a bear,┬álike we’ve known from Bareburger for many years—who looks kind of like a swashbuckler, what with that sword and all. What do you think is going on in there?

The restaurant centers around southern Viginian food with an intense focus on wood-fired oven vegetables and roasts. Biscuits & pastries yummmmmm

Looks like a little Confederate or US civil war era soldier. Hmmm maybe some Southern cuisine? mmmm collard greens, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn bread! I can dream right??

You’re on the right track, John. Euripides Pelekanos is interviewed in this month’s issue of Boro magazine and he gives a hint about what’s to come for that location. Here’s the quote: “it will be Southern Hospitality, but local, fresh, fun, hip, farm-to-table, with local flavor to it.”
