Astoria Arrivals – The Brass Owl

A few weeks ago, we learned of the exciting arrival of a new clothing and accessories shop called The Brass Owl.  Meg had done an initial sit-down with the shop’s owner, Nicole Panettieri and learned of a few things about the shop, such as that it sells trendy clothing, accessories, shoes and other little retail jewels.  Officially opening its doors this past Saturday, the We Heart Astoria team attended the friends & family event and wanted to give you a glimpse inside.

We dug the shop’s interior which is cheery, friendly and colorful – set up with a variety of things such as clothes, shoes, books and these lovely 50’s style cupcake aprons.  The furnishings are stylish such as the feminine wall paper and the pretty blue chairs and chaises.

The juxtaposition of shoes and books was most charming, and personally made me think of Sex & The City.  There’s plenty of fun shoe styles to choose from for the fall and the colors vary from classic to more bold.

Marveling at the pretty presentation of necklaces, not only were they fun to look at, the clever frame hanger gave us inspiration for a home display case.

As Nicole already noted in our Fall Fashion Trends article, tassel necklaces are in.  Pair them with a solid colored T and you’ll spice up any outfit.

Last but not least, Nicole had a generous helping of mini cupcakes that were branded with her pretty owl logo.  Supplied by Sweets First, they came in a variety of flavors such as red velvet, apple cinnamon and chocolate caramel.  What a fun way to celebrate!
