Tomorrow is International Coffee Day, did you know? Yeah, it’s certainly a made up holiday, but one we love, given the many good places to get coffee in Astoria.  Hope you guys enjoy it, and treat yourselves to some delicious brew.

Native_Coffee_Roasters_AstoriaNative Coffee Roasters – Locally roasted right here in Astoria, founder and brewer, Brian Donaldson brings you one of the most fragrant and tasty experiences in a cup.  You can get a cup of his brew at the Museum of Moving Image.  Or just email him directly and you can pick it up in Astoria.

Astoria Coffee – Another fabulous independent coffee distributor in Astoria, founded by Dennis Lee and Liz Wick, Astoria Coffee is currently available via delivery.  They feature twelve different varieties with the Ethiopia Harrar Natural and the Costa Rica Naranjo as their most popular.  You can email Dennis to get your fix.

The Queens Kickshaw – One of our favorite coffee shops in town, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a delicious brew and then to chill out, do some reading (or blogging in our case) and grab a fantastic grilled cheese sandwich.  Sounds like a perfect Sunday to me!  40-17 Broadway, Astoria.  718.777.0913

frappeAvenue Cafe – On a nice day like tomorrow, why not stop in for an ice cold frappe at Avenue Cafe?  Not only is the coffee super strong and flavorful, it comes with a light foam on top and is served in a pretty bamboo glass.  35-27 30th Avenue.  718.278.6967

Sweetleaf Coffee

Sweetleaf Coffee

Sweetleaf – Another one of my coffee faves, Sweetleaf carries delicious Stumptown Coffee, which they use to make some unique drinks such as their Iced Rocket Fuel – a cold brewed coffee with chicory and maple syrup.  I’ve recently seen their snazzy location on Center Blvd, and it’s worth a visit.  46-15 Center Blvd, LIC.  347.527.1038

FREE Coffee – Our favorite coffee chains, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts are celebrating too – with a free cup of Joe.  See details for free coffee here.
