Today is day 3 of our 12 Days of Giveaways here at We Heart Astoria! We’re thrilled with your response and are enjoying the love.
Today’s giveaway is dear to our hearts, as it is brunch for two at Vesta! Vesta is probably one of our absolute favorite restaurants in town – the food is fresh, inventive, and delicious, the space is cozy, and the owners are the nicest guys. And then there’s the fabulous Baby Jesus Cake. It gets high marks from many Astorians I know.
For me, probably my very favorite dish on the menu is the L’Italiano, which happens to be served during brunch! It’s grilled Italian bread topped with ricotta, hot sopressata, and a poached egg. NOM. The Hangover Pizza is pretty dang good, too. They serve many other delicious things for brunch, so if you win this giveaway, you’re golden.
To enter, just leave us a comment telling us what your favorite thing is to eat for brunch. To be honest, one of my absolute favorite brunch items is the mimosa! Such a treat. Be sure to leave your email when you fill out the comment form so we can contact you if you’ve won. Enjoy!
UPDATE: We will choose a winner on Monday 12/13, so you still have time to enter!

A breakfast burrito with crispy fried potatoes, huevos, cheese and sausage on the inside, and homemade green chili smothered on the outside, is just about the closest thing to perfection for a cold winter brunch date!
My favorite brunch food is biscuits ‘n’ gravy on top of hashbrowns- one of the unhealthiest things in the world but tastes so good it doesn’t matter!
gotta say, 50% of the time i’m hungover at brunch and nothing brings you back to the world of the living like a bloody mary.
mad coffee. and booze. and anytime eggs get up on something they usually don’t, like a pizza or a burger or a truffled salmon, i’m calling it a bangin brunch. that’s the best thing for brunch, eggs co-mingling with other foods.
The hash brown breakfast sandwich: fried egg, cheese, bacon, and a layer of golden, crispy hash browns (not homefries, mind you) sandwiched between two toasted English muffins. *So* good!
Champagne and a splash of orange juice!
Breakfast of champions
Cause I dream about the lasagna being on the brunch menu someday. Until then, the Hangover Pizza or the Warm Bankie will just have to do.
French toast, bacon, coffee, beer
The Italiano at Vesta of course!
Fried chicken and eggs. : )
Spicy Bloody Mary, Fried Eggs, Bacon, and Home Fries. If that fried egg and bacon is on top of a Cheeseburger, even better.
favorite brunch is a fresh omlette with crabmeat and tomato. Not bad at other times of the day, either.
Hangover pizza, hangover pizza, hangover pizza! And some of most amazing coffee ever. : ) I don’t know if I’ll ever order anything different for brunch! It’s too flippin’ amazing.
Eggs + crispy potatoes + veggie sausage = perfection
Bloody mary! and I looove pancakes
The mimosa is best when there is a raspberry inside bouncing in the bubbles. But all time favorite brunch food is the french toast with berries at Avenue!
French toast!
Best brunch I ever had was an egg and smoked salmon omelet. Smokin’, indeed! OMG, it melted in my mouth!
Fresh wild blueberry muffins, scrambled eggs, all natural bacon and cappuccino
My friend and I just went for our first Vesta brunch last Sunday and it was AMAZING! I had the hangover pizza and she had the Warm Blankie. The pizza was yummy, but I have to say that I loved my side of home fries the best. They were prefectly crispy and seasoned. I declare them the best home fries in Astoria…perhaps even in NYC.
When I want to eat slightly lighter, I go with the L’Italiano on that perfectly toasted bread. When I want to keep eating and eating, I go with the delightful Hangover Pizza. Needless to say, I order the Hangover about 90% of the time.
French toast and a mimosa! And coffee with lots of cream.
