Celebrate Valentine’s Day 2018 in Astoria and LIC Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2018 in Astoria and LIC We thought we’d help give you a head start on Thanksgiving eats and activities by publishing options on the early side; we’ll update this post as we receive more details about who’s serving what in the neighborhood. Plus, a few other things! First, from the Hunters Point Civic Association: Every year our cities food pantries are overwhelmed with supplying food to the homeless and those in need. Many of these pantries operate without government funding and rely on the generosity of others to support their communities. In response to this need, your local Lions Club and the Hunters Point Civic Association, have organized a yearly Thanksgiving food drive which collects thousands of pounds of food through the support of donations from residents in buildings like yours. In a couple of weeks you will see a collection box in the lobby of your building for the purpose of donations. A list of needed items is available or, if you prefer, a tax deductible donations can be made at hunterspointcivic.org Before (and in some cases after) Thanksgiving Third Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive The Irish Rover, 3718 28th Avenue, Astoria Monday, November 20, 7:30pm Please join us for our 3rd annual darts tournament and food drive.
