This organization provides support for immigrant families separated at the US/Mexican border and seeks to reunite parents and children. It also provides ongoing support to families affected by separations. Dining For Justice will be held from 5pm to 8pm at Sound River Studios, which is located at 4-40 44th Drive in LIC. It will feature tasting stations hosted by various local eateries and lots of food to sample. Confirmed vendors include John Brown Smokehouse, M Wells, and Kurry Qulture — all three of which recently got Michelin nods. Other vendors include Fletchers BBQ, Spoon and Sprout, Boishakhi, Hill Country, The Queensboro, Caseiro e Bom, and more. This is, of course, in keeping with the Queens Dinner Club’s dedication to showcasing the diversity of cuisine that can be found in Queens. There will also be auctioned and raffled items as well as appearances by elected officials. “Chefs are passionate, caring people,” said Jonathan Forgash, a Queens Dinner Club member and co-creator of the event. “I knew this would be an amazing opportunity for the food community to help Immigrant Families Together raise money and create a fun evening for everyone involved.” Tickets for the event are available now, and each ticket comes with five raffle tickets.
