They are in the process of revamping their menu, and we HAD to check out what they were cooking up. The good news: as we previously reported, grilled cheese is still going to be a focal point of the menu. I was most excited to try the Buffalo Blue, which features Buffalo sauce-infused mozzarella and apple butter on bread that’s grilled to perfection. The picture below says it all, but the one thing I’ll add is that the cheese achieved the perfect level of melty-ness, and the hot/sweet combo was a real winner. Another new sandwich we tried was the Brie offering. It featured Thai basil blueberry preserve, almonds, cider-poached pears, and of course, Brie cheese. One of the coolest things about this sandwich was the different textures all working together on this fruity, crunchy, creamy sandwich. So this next dish is kind of a big deal — it’s the Soft Egg in Burrata, and it’s exactly what it looks and sounds like. The Burrata is homemade, with an egg softly baked in the center. Cutting this thing open is a thing of beauty, and eating it is just as much fun! The Queens Kickshaw always represents when it comes to desserts, and I was happy to see the Chocolate Pudding has remained on the menu. To try something new, we had the Banana Bread Pudding with coconut caramel and strawberries. It was a satisfyingly sweet ending for the meal, especially since it wasn’t too rich or heavy. It was a big portion, so if you’re not splitting it with someone, be prepared to take some home. (Since there’s fruit in it, it can be breakfast, right?) We’re excited to continue trying new menu items at TQK, but so far, so good! Have you tried any of their new sandwiches yet?
