Bonchon Chicken is Coming to Astoria Another chicken joint is opening up on Broadway in the old Norwood Rexall Drugs space. It’s called, simply, Chicken House, and appears to be an expansion of the Kew Gardens chicken restaurant of the same name. In 2013 it was apparently em-”broiled” in a “fowl fight” with another fast chicken spot, Stop-N-Go Chicken, according to the Daily News. Both places are pretty popular, no doubt because of their proximity to the courthouse. As for what they’ll offer, if it’s anything like the Kew Gardens location, you’ll find grilled/charbroiled chicken and sides, served quickly. You’ll get a quarter, half, or whole chicken, with sides like rice, salad, and corn. We’re not really sure why someone would open a chicken spot on Broadway, what with the newly opened King of Falafel nearby, as well as Caravan Chicken and The Chicken House on the same strip; there’s also Bonchon further west. But, sometimes things don’t make sense from the outside. Here’s hoping the chicken is grilled to perfection, the sides are fresh, and the cost of a meal there is affordable. Then again I do see a bunch of people at the Chicken Shack. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
