When I moved into the neighborhood (4 years ago) I stumbled across this blog, and it connected me to the neighborhood in the best way possible. I learned about new arrivals, neighborhood gossip, and the best places to eat and drink.

In celebration of We Heart Astoria’s big birthday, some of our friends have created some special items available from now until mid-May.

If you give them a sample-share with us on social media #weheartanniversary. What do you heart most about We Heart Astoria? Tell us in the comments section or on social media!

Red Sonjas_MundoOur good friends at Mundo are putting a heart spin on their famous Red Sonjas! Squeeze a little lemon on top of a heart-shaped red lentil concoction and enjoy! (37-06 36th Street, Long Island City) (718) 706-8636

View from Hellgate at Sekend Sun

Screen Shot 2015-04-13 at 7.49.31 PM2014 Best New Arrival nominee, Sekend Sun, has mixed up a fantastic cocktail celebrating our love (or heart) of Astoria. Called the View from Hell Gate, this drink is made with Rock ‘n Rye, Amaro, pineapple juice, ginger, lime, and is finally topped with Ginger Ale. It comes in a highball on the rocks with a half orange wheel. Delicious! Have one and toast us while toasting your neighborhood! (32-11 Broadway, Astoria) (917) 832-6414
