Carnival of Love, on of Astoria’s beloved nonprofits, contacted us today to tell us about their upcoming toy drive and holiday party, and we couldn’t be happier that they did! It sounds like a wonderful project and takes place at the Melrose Ballroom (yes, that’s where Rihanna was recently). Head there Thursday, December 4 at 7 p.m. Admission is $25 (tickets can be purchased here), OR you can get in FREE with a new, packaged toy donation. You’ll get to enjoy live music, light appetizers and dessert, as well as a limited open bar. FYI, Carnival of Love is teaming up with the Blue Child Project to deliver all the donated gifts to hospitals in underprivileged areas throughout Christmas week.
