Thanks to all who participated last night in our unexpected twitter community effort after the broken rail at 59th/Lex destroyed the evening’s subway commute. It was much appreciated by many to see what their fellow Astorians were experiencing, a good chance to vent, and know what was going on. You guys really helped each other; we were happy to facilitate it, too.
So here are some images we think may reflect on how you felt last night if you were stuck in the commute from hell.
Transit FUBAR gives you the rage. If only flying were an option last night.

When you see the crowded subway platform, full of people waiting for a train, any train.

When you realize the trains still aren’t coming.

When you understand that the MTA is not going to respond to your questions in real time.

When you feel helpless and wish you could do something about this problem.

Or maybe a bus is better.

When the trains finally show up and you get on, you wish this would happen.

And how you feel when you finally get home. What a relief.

The new-ish M60-SBS is my go-to public transportation now; highly recommended if it works for your route/commute.
This is the Olympus of bullshit–every single week, there’s at least one rush hour where the N/Q is/are delayed due to…SOMETHING. If it’s raining, forget it; the MTA has mastered the art of screwing Astorians even, literally, on clear, dry, 70-degree gorgeous days. Enough already!
