On June 21st, QCA is kicking off summer with their annual Block Party! Enjoy a fun-filled evening of food delights from Bareburger, Snowdonia, Manducatis Rustica, Kim Chi Smoke, and neighborhood newcomer Mamu Thai  (just to name a few).  All this served alongside cold beer from SingleCut and Rockaway Brewing Company. Musicians from Make Music New York will be rocking the street and when the sun sets, enjoy a screening of the best shorts from the Queens World Film Festival, Rural Route Film Festival and Sparrow Film Project.

Kaufman-Astoria-lotPlus QCA will honor Neighborhood Stars George Rallis and Gary Anza from William Hallet (who will be at the Block Party roasting a pig!) and our very own Mackenzi Farquer. (Check out the carefully created awards they’ll receive!) The Block Party combines community, film, and supporting the arts in one big Kaufman back-lot extravaganza.  The winner of this giveaway gets to experience it all with the plus-one of their choice! If you tweet about the giveaway (make sure to tag @weheartastoria, @KaufmanArts, @QCAsocial) you’ll get a chance to win a $50 dollar gift certificate to participating food vendor, Manducatis Rustica.
