Today we’re thrilled to welcome Petals & Roots to Astoria, and more importantly, to the We Heart Astoria family! I know personally I’m excited to have a sophisticated floral offering in the neighborhood, and plan on making them my go-to flower people. The owners Peter & Alex both grew up in the flower business, their fathers were boyhood friends and each had their own floral businesses for over 30 years. Both remember spending their childhoods in the shop, sweeping floors, picking up flowers off the ground to make their own arrangements and even sleeping in blanket padded flower boxes while their families would pull all nighters gearing up for a big holiday. These days, their 2 1/2 year old son Lucas can be found at their shop, keeping the family tradition alive. You’ll find Petals & Roots is different than any other florist in Astoria, or even Queens for that matter. Their beautifully designed 31st shop is clean, uncluttered, and offers a high end aesthetic. Look for gorgeous flowers, unique houseplants, candles and cards, and thoughtful & detail wedding and event arrangements.
