WHA Wedding Week: The Creative (Including Beauty)

There are so many details and aspects of a wedding, we could easily have done multiple weeks’ worth of posts! So today we’re doing double duty: the creative aspects, including design and beauty.

The Little Design Shoppe & Creative Co.

First off, Astoria-based design and creative company The Little Design Shoppe offers a range of services: from event design (planning, coordination/management, production, fabrication/rentals, setup, execution/breakdown) to custom stationary design (save the dates and invites, thank you cards, invitation suites, location maps, menus, etc). One aspect you may not typically think of as “design” is beauty! Makeup looks and hairstyles have to fit the aesthetic and day of the wedding, and luckily local makeup artists and hair stylists can help you achieve just that:

Willow House Beauty

Willow House is led by creative director and founder Michelle Schultz who has over a decade of experience as a makeup artist working in editorial, celebrity, and weddings. After doing 200+ weddings over the years she has witnessed that every couple is unique, including their beauty needs. As her demand increased in the wedding industry, she began to take note of its lack of inclusivity and diversity. One of their main priorities is creating a comfortable space for the LGBTQ+ community looking for beauty services. They do both makeup and hair!

Eden Di Bianco Beauty

Eden Di Bianco is a NYC-based freelance hair stylist and makeup artist who specializes in a broad range of services. Chrissie Eden Di Bianco believes that each person has a unique expression of their innermost beautiful self, and teaches her clients not just how to make the most of hair products and makeup, but how to have the confidence to be beautiful inside and out every day. All her work is with CRUELTY FREE products–as a lifelong animal lover, she supports animal welfare causes and is a rescue pitbull Mommy. Her practice is vegan friendly, and only uses cruelty free products, skincare, and brushes.

Marvin Alexander Beauty

Marvin Alexander has been in the industry for more than 10 years, and his talent in beauty, editorial, and theatrical makeup applications has allowed for him to travel the U.S working with stunning beauties such as Paulina Gretzky and Violet Change. Whether your wedding day beauty will be clean, and fresh, glowing with tousled hair or bold and sultry, glamorous with a vintage waves, his team has you covered.
