We Heart Astoria Food Talk, 11/7/12

So…how about this storm we’re having, yet again?  Sure keeps life interesting, and while many restaurants have still remained impacted by Sandy’s effects, a whole lot of them are back up, operating and giving back to the community.  Here’s what’s going on this week in food news.

More great charitable things are coming out of the Queens Kickshaw this week (tomorrow in fact), as they host their Hurricane Sandy fundraiser all day.  All the profits that day will go to the Red Cross, which is really awesome.  So have a grilled cheese and give back while you’re at it.  40-17 Broadway, Astoria. 718.777.0913

As you know, the Astoria Art Festival is going on this weekend, with several venues across town taking part.  I’d like to shine a special light on Astoria Park Wine & Spirits, which in addition to the art will also be having a wine tasting, featuring local wines with the proceeds benefiting the Red Cross.   28-07 24th Avenue, Astoria.  718.606.1142
