In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and the devastation that has been left in its wake, Queens Mamas, Astoria Recovers, and Occupy Sandy have been directly aiding individuals & families in the Rockaways on a daily basis. These organizations have been diligently working together with community leaders, volunteers and independent agencies such as The Visiting Nurse Services in aiding families in dire need.

Through their combined efforts, they have been working toward a more efficient recovery by rebuilding, dispatching supplies & essentials and getting them to people and families in desperate need within 24 hours.

Queens Mamas continues to work daily in the rebuilding and recovery of the Rockaways by keeping volunteers informed via social media such as Facebook, twitter, and through web updates on www.Queensmamas.com , and www.Astoria.recovers.org as to where they’ll be most effective in their efforts, as well as continuing to  dispatch drivers and supplies daily to the Rockwaways.

Their current donation drop off site is located at:
23-74 38th street Astoria, N.Y.
Drop off daily, 9a.m -7p.m.

Please note that clothing donations are no longer being accepted.  Volunteers & drivers are still needed daily & donations and supplies are still being accepted. Please contact Leni Calas at 347-709 – INFO,  for more information. This is not going to be a quick fix. It does not take a day, week, even month, to rebuild lives. We are in this for the long haul- and hope we can count on you to continue helping us help our neighbors recover and rebuild. Please spread the word and help them in any way you can.

I apologize in my country -low and propaganda -must have very different meanings.
I interpreted this post as asking for MORE help and donations.
Again I apologize.

There was no slamming anyone. Please know that I know many restaurant owners in Queens who donated items, collected items and were helping those in need, who did not need to take pictures of the items collected to gain publicity. The good deed is in the action of helping others and spreading the word to get the much needed help to those who need it, not in letting others know we did help.

@Cecilia if you read the top of the post it says,
“This post is being brought to you by the amazing folks at Queens Mamas, who are working tirelessly to bring aid to those who need it and collect items from local Astorians. -Mackenzi”

Please don’t slam people for stepping up and helping during this time of great need.

When someone, or an organization works to help and donates items or goods, it should not be publicized. It is great work that which one does not announce as a means to look good or gain popularity.

Actually, those goods were donated by people who donated them to Queens mamas. How low of that group to use this as a propaganda.
