The next two giveaways bring you double the fun – for Day 11, we are offering a 3 course dinner for 2 people at Ovelia and 2 tickets to the New Year’s Eve party at Sweet Afton! As you know, the food at Ovelia is delicious – there’s something for everyone, meat eater and vegan alike. The NYE party at Sweet Afton will feature an open bar including beer, wine, liquor, and cocktails, as well as finger food and a champagne toast at midnight. This is a fantastic giveaway package, full of greatness at two of Astoria’s finest food spots. We’re really excited to be able to bring it to you! To enter, all you have to do is tell us your favorite dish or drink at either establishment. Is it the loukaniko at Ovelia? The fried pickles at Sweet Afton? I loved the fried beer battered pickles that my friends and I shared while making our way through the beer menu. Great laid back atmosphere is perfect for drinks. Describing something as tasting “clean” always seems like a pretentious way of saying nothing, but if you want the quintessential example of a “clean” taste, order the Gin Basil on a Sunday afternoon. Throw in some (decidedly not “clean” but nonetheless delicious) fried pickles, and you have the best quick brunch in the city.
