A very important and potentially fascinating event is coming Astoria’s way in the next day. Wednesday night, April 7, Democracy for New York City (DFNYC) presents their monthly Linkup, which will be in the form of a candidate forum in Astoria. Candidates running during the upcoming Democratic primary for the 36th Assembly District have been invited. They are:

Jeremiah Frei-Pearson (confirmed), http://jeremiahfp.org/
Aravella Simotas (not confirmed), http://www.aravellasimotas.com/

The 36th district is comprised of mainly parts of Astoria.

The event takes place on Wednesday, April 7th, from 7-8:30pm at the Greater Astoria Historical Society, Quinn Building, 35-20 Broadway, 4th Floor, Astoria.

The 36th district is being vacated by Assemblymember Mike Gianaris, who is running for the State Senate seat currently held by George Onorato, who is retiring.
