Discounted Local Photoshoots

Photo shoots can be expensive, so local photographer Sylense Labit likes to book several families on the same day and lower her prices once or twice a year. This year she is doing so this Sunday! She’ll be doing photo shoots all day in Astoria Park with a little break in the heat of the day. Email her at sylense.labit@gmail.com if you’d like to book something!

Time: 8 a.m.- 1 p.m., 5 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.
Cost: $150 per family, they get a 30 minute photo shoot and 25 digital images

Second Anniversary of Queens Craft Brigade

You probably know the gist by now, but this Sunday is the Second Anniversary of the Queens Craft Brigade, which they’re celebrating with a summer market. It’s hard to believe this Queens staple–an independent market bringing together talented makers exclusively from around the borough–is only just turning two! Vendors at the July market include Frank Ape, Benchflour Bakers, Caryn Cast, HISS, Hellgate Farms, Astor Apiaries, GRL Supply, Key and Arrow Leather, and more.

MoMA PS1’s “Warm Up” series is an art-museum-meets-rave outdoor dance party that’s been occurring since 1998. Happening every Saturday through 8/31, this weekend’s lineup includes DJ BlassEquiknoxx feat Shanique MarieMark ErnestusMinaBAD GYALMs. Nina, and Lil C. Buy tickets here or here.
