Changes at Sac’s Place + Abruzzo Pastoral Night

Last night we received word about a big change coming to Broadway- it looks like Astoria institution Sac’s Place will be finding a new home after 30 years at 25-41 Broadway. While rumors to this effect have been swirling for a few months, we can now confirm it’s unlikely Sac’s will be able to renew their lease at their current location.

Dear Friends –

It’s that time of year again, when we reach out to invite you to our annual pig roasts in November. The pig roasts have become signature events for us. We know that many of you look forward to coming to them, on one of the first two Thursday’s in November, each year. We look forward to them as well.

This year, we are adding another roast on the third Thursday, for a bittersweet reason: these may be our last pig roasts at this location. After 30 years at 25-41 Broadway, our lease expires next summer and it is unlikely to be renewed.

We will keep you posted, but in the meantime, we’d like to ask our customers – our friends – to do what we always do in November: celebrate the harvest together.

Abruzzo is a little known region in Italy where the Sacramone family is from. It’s bountiful location between the mountains and sea provide for the five basic food groups of Abruzzo cuisine: bread, pasta, cheese, meat, and wine.
