Last night I stopped by the Cinema Soiree at Hell Gate Social. As we’ve mentioned, this was a fundraiser for the Outdoor Cinema series at Socrates Sculpture Park. It’s a wonderful series that draws people from all over NYC – the movies are top notch and there is always some sort of delicious correlative cuisine offered (for example, Brazilian food for a Brazilian movie).
Cinema soiree at Hell Gate Social
The rain no doubt kept some people away, but everyone I saw there seemed to be having a nice time. Those who donated $25 or more got a complimentary “Soiree cocktail”.

It was very reminiscent of the Hell Gate Lemonade, which is a favorite of mine there.
There was a raffle, too, and DJs were spinning some great tunes.
