We Heart Astoria is Proud To Present Our Very First CMJ Showcase!

You guys, we’re so excited about this!

If you’re a fan of live music, you’ve probably attended the CMJ Music Marathon, an annual NYC event that brings thousands of bands to the city for a jam-packed week of shows. It’s awesome, overwhelming, and exhilarating, with just one small downside: until now, events have only been held in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

That’s all about to change. We Heart Astoria has teamed up with LIC Bar to present an official, FREE CMJ showcase featuring some killer artists, right here in our neighborhood. Keep Wednesday, October 14 open, because you won’t want to miss this!

Here’s our incredible lineup:

Marlon Chaplin

Kicking the night off with an acoustic set, Toronto-based Marlon Chaplin will bring his soulful singer-songwriter vibe to our neighborhood. Check out his most recent video with vocal powerhouse Jessica Speziale here:

David D’Alessio

A Hawaii native who now calls NYC home, David D’Alessio has a playful pop-rock presence that’s infectious. In the trailer for his album Some Girls,  David recalls the inspiration behind his work: celebrating women.

Ransom Pier

Ransom Pier’s sound is reminiscent of so many of my favorite artists, like Alabama Shakes, Lake Street Dive, and Dawes. Their feel-good roots/rock tunes would feel right at home on the radio amongst the buzziest bands in the business.

Jeneen Terrana and Not Another Noise

We are incredibly pumped to be featuring Jeneen Terrana, a charming folk rocker with an impressive set of pipes. We’re digging her WNYC performance here:

Lesley Barth

Listen to that voice! Enchanting Lesley Barth will be closing out the night with her pop-rock prowess. This is going to be one fantastic evening of music!

The live music will run from 7pm-12am, so come early, grab a seat and a drink, and enjoy a night full of tunes right in our neighborhood. No cover charge or CMJ badge will be required for entry; this is a FREE show. Major thanks to Gustavo Rodriguez at the LIC Bar for playing a vital role in making this all happen!
