Calling all Queens creatives! The Astoria Art Festival is back and better than ever, and looking for YOUR submissions. From Saturday, October 17, to Saturday, October 24, restaurants and shops all over the neighborhood will be showcasing the work of local artists of all skill levels. Past participating venues include neighborhood favorites like Sweet Afton, The Queens Kickshaw, Front Toward Enemy, and Queens Comfort.

Artists from a variety of mediums are encouraged to submit: painters, photographers, cartoonists, collage artists, etc. Due to space constraints, they will not be accepting supersize works like sculptures and large installations. As long as your piece is a manageable size, the possibilities are endless! Keep an eye on the festival’s official website and Facebook page for updates about the rockin’ kickoff party, as well as other events they’re planning.

Here’s a rundown of the submission guidelines from the Astoria Art Festival’s website:

1. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

2. Along with high-res images of your work, please send an accompanying detailed description and bio of no more than 200 words.

3. Please note the Queens neighborhood in which you reside.

4. Send all materials to the email address astoriaartfestival@gmail.com by Midnight September 8th, 2015 with the subject heading Open Call.

5.  All selected entrants will be notified by September 22, 2015
