Astoria Small Businesses: Fill Out This Survey to Learn More About Resources During COVID-19

It’s no secret that this is a challenging time for many people all over NYC (and frankly, the world), but it has been particularly difficult for local small business owners. Though the federal government promised small business PPP loans to help allow businesses to continue functioning and paying their bills during the pandemic, online system issues and running out of funds still left many without.

Part of the outreach for the Astoria Mutual Aid Network (which you can read all about here!) involves helping local business, and Astoria resident Frank Fredericks has been heading up that facet of the organization.

In order to assess needs and map assets, he has put together this survey to “connect for both access to resources to help your business and offer assistance to others.” They will help connect you to federal assistance from The Care Act (like EIDL and PPP loans), along with suggestions on how to pivot your business safely to continue to generate income, and also how to support staff during this time.

Frank is aware that many local businesses are in need of extra support but still have so much to offer our community, and the Mutual Aid Network is pooling resources and connecting businesses to help.
