The Winter Court’s Spooky at Strand Smokehouse St. Patrick’s Day Weekend begins on a “Friday the 13th”! So band The Winter Court will be playing Irish folk music to kick off the spookiest* St. Paddy’s Day weekend ever! They will be playing all night, mixing originals with Irish folk standards and rarities along with special guests, requests, and an impressively long set. *They note: there aren’t really a lot of spooky Irish songs; just roll with it. 8:00-11:00, all ages, no cover. Kicking off at Shillelagh Tavern, this year’s route will continue straight down 30th Ave visiting six different bars all offering drink specials. They will visit Passage, Wolfhound, Judy & Punch, Dominie’s, and Katch. Complimentary food will be available at both Shillelagh (pizza) and Katch (wings and nachos) this year! Your ticket grants you drink specials, a commemorative t-shirt (VIP Jersey available), food at two locations, a photobooth, and giveaways. This is another 30th Ave-centered bar crawl, but is for a good local cause: the event will raise money for the Astoria Filmmaker’s Club (so you will be on film at points!). Registration for the crawl begins at 11am at THE BREWERY BAR AND KITCHEN located at 49-18 30th Avenue. There will be a complementary brunch for all LepreCon goers, sponsored by The Brewery.
