It’s finally time for everything to turn shades of pink and red! Whether you’re single or coupled up, or looking for a fun night out with friends, here are all the Valentine’s Day specials in the neighborhood this year:

Kōyō

Valentine’s Day is a time to go all-out, so why not treat you and your beau to the best kaiseki omakase experience in Astoria at Kōyō?  Executive Chef Darry Liu (Eleven Madison Park, Shuko, and Ichimura at Uchu) is plating a six-course menu with the following courses: Sunomono: tai ankimo with wonson and tosazu; Sakizuke: botan ebi with uni, caviar and miso egg yolk; Zensai: seasonal sashimi with shirako tempura and dashi braised sea snail; Mushimono: uni with ikura, shiitake and ginkgo nuts; Nigiri: chef’s seasonal selection; Mizumono: black sesame flan with basil seeds. The menu is priced at $160 per person and there will be three seatings that evening.

Anti-Valentine’s Day Singles Mixer for Astoria Singles at Katch

As this event creator notes, Valentine’s Day is actually one of the best nights to go out in the city because you’re almost 100 percent guaranteed the “singles” you’re meeting are legitimately single! If you’re looking to meet someone special or just some new friends who aren’t coupled up, the event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and you can arrive at your leisure. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. you can enjoy complimentary appetizers and drink specials including: $5 Coors, Miller, Katch Brew and $6 Red and White Wines. It will take place out in the heated / tented courtyard and there will be 75-150+ NY singles ages 21-45.

Adorably-named “Puppy Love,” Chateau le Woof is hosting a four-course seated dinner with champagne for $45 per person. Call for more info and to make reservations (718-626-WOOF).

DiWine is offering a three-course prix fixe menu ($65/person, $125/couple plus tax and gratuity) that includes a choice of Baked Clams, Strawberry-Beet Salad or Lobster Bisque for an appetizer; Branzino with grilled rainbow vegetables, Rib Eye Steak with truffle mashed potatoes, and Mushroom Risotto with seared scallops as entrée choices; and Chocolate Mousse or Strawberry Cheesecake in a jar for dessert. There will also be a special rasp-BEAR-y cocktail made with house-made hibiscus-infused vodka, raspberry, lemon and aquafaba, and has an adorable gingerbread bear attached to the rim. Astoria Tiny Market is having a Galentine’s/Valentine’s tiny market with all your favorites like beautiful cold-pressed soaps from Lila Soaps to delectable perfumes from Callio Fragrance.

Gastroteca Astoria will have an Italian four-course prix fixe menu for $65 per person, if you want to reenact that Lady & the Tramp scene. See the full menu here, but expect poached lobster carpaccio, spaghetti chitara, and pan-roasted scallops.

Beans & Lager will have a special prix fixe menu as well for the big day. For $55 a person, enjoy four courses (menu listed above) as well as a complimentary toast.

Soft Core at QED

Yes, that’s what is sounds like. For late-night laughs on V-day, check out local favorite Soft Core at QED, celebrating its second anniversary to the day. Attracting comedy fans but also a welcoming amount of curious couples, comedians Jenn Wehrung (BBC) and Chris Gersbeck host and riff on the most cringe-worthy adult movie scenes. You can watch a promo video to get an idea of how the show goes here.
