Leading the way as Astoria’s cocktail-forward bar for 10 years, Sweet Afton has been a We Heart Astoria favorite from the beginning. This year, they brought in Kris Moran, set decorator for the recent film “Joker” (as well as many of Wes Anderson’s films), to lead a beautiful redesign in honor of their 10th anniversary. The interiors are beautiful and well worth stopping by to check out!
Starting January 1, 2020, they are launching a bottomless brunch. Get ready for ultra-creative cocktails by their new bar director, Cory Miller, who is a majorly cool addition to their team. When he’s not behind the bar, he’s also the co-host of the podcast Behind the Stick, where he and The Bonnie bar director J. Harris Tooley talk all things bar culture.
Tickets are now on sale for their annual New Year’s Eve bash. This year’s theme is the Roaring Twenties! Tickets are $85 and include open bar from 9 pm – 12 am, hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening, specialty cocktails, and a champagne toast at midnight.
