Ready to treat your friends to a few rounds at The Bonnie?! They’re giving away a $200 gift certificate to the bar. That’s right – an entire night out, completely on them!
Pioneering the extraordinary cocktail scene of Astoria since 2014, The Bonnie celebrated its fifth anniversary in November of this year. As Sweet Afton‘s sister bar, they’re grateful to show their company’s warm hospitality to the Ditmars area of the neighborhood. A beloved brunch destination in Astoria, The Bonnie also has an excellent local craft beer selection and creative menu. Their giant bar garden is a true oasis in the hot summer months. And during the winter months, the bar is cozy and twinkly, a sweet spot for a night out with friends or an intimate date night.
The new mastermind behind The Bonnie’s cocktail program is J. Harris Tooley, who has crafted an ultra-creative fall/winter cocktail menu. He also co-hosts the podcast Behind the Stick with Sweet Afton’s Cory Miller. And as far as food goes, The Bonnie has your covered – Chef Nick Testa is a champion of Food Network’s Chopped, and his crave-able menus are served nightly until 1 am.
The Bonnie has Live Music Thursdays, where you can discover the “best homegrown talent,” and Saturday Night Vibes, a weekly DJ set with the Tight Fade Crew playing funky grooves, beats, and soul. Their private events program is also extraordinary. They can hook you up with anything from intimate events for just around 10 people in their cozy Snug Room, all the way up to a full buyout option for weddings, corporate events, or grand celebrations (for up to 200 people)!
On December 19th, take part in their annual Ugly Sweater Party and listen to live bluegrass from 7 – 10 p.m. Or join their December 24th Christmas Eve celebration with DJ Santa on the turntables and the infamous #JohnWarren behind the bar. Get ready for them to serve you up yuletide cheer, general hilarity, and strong drinks.
Oh, and are you still looking to lock down the perfect spot to ring in the New Year? Ticket sales are underway for their annual New Year’s Eve Bash. This year’s theme is the Roaring Twenties. 1920s attire encouraged, and the best dressed will take home a prize!
