Bernie Sanders Rally at Queensbridge Park this Saturday–With AOC’s Endorsement?

Bernie Sanders is coming to Queens–Queensbridge Park, that is.

A rally supporting Sanders will take place this Saturday, October 19 at 1 p.m., though the area will be open to the public starting at 11:30 a.m. The park is located at Vernon Blvd and Queens Plaza South in Long Island City.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (lovingly nicknamed “AOC” by locals), the U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district, was just announced to be joining. According to the Sanders’ campaign (via The New York Times), she will be endorsing Sanders as her pick for Democratic Presidential Nominee during the rally.

Touted as the “Bernie’s Back” rally, the event comes about two weeks after Sanders was hospitalized for a heart attack. It also comes on the heels of last night’s Democratic Primary Debate. Ilhan Omar, Representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district, also just endorsed Sanders officially yesterday.

According to the Astoria Post, Sanders had a rally back in Hunters Point South Park in 2016 when he was fighting Hilary Clinton for the nomination, so he is no stranger to LIC.
