Art + Beer may not be the most classic combination, but having all local breweries at an experimental art museum complete with a DJ set and outdoor film screenings? Now that sounds like a match made in heaven. And that’s exactly what’s happening this Friday, May 17 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at MoMA PS1 in Long Island City. The second annual “Springtoberfest” will transform the innovative museum into a biergarten with participating Queens brewers: Big aLICe Brewing, Fifth Hammer, Rockaway Brewing Co., SingleCut Beersmiths, LIC Beer Project and Mikkeller Brewing NYC. Food vendors like What’s The ‘Dillaz? and Speedy Oyster Shuckers will also be on hand for soaking up some of that ale. Of course, you have to enjoy the art as well. There will be outdoor film screenings, a DJ set by JADALAREIGN, and after-hours access to the galleries with seven exhibitions including Nancy Spero, Simone Fattal, Gina Beavers, and Zheng Guogu. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased HERE. They guarantee entry only, and food and drink can be purchased separately inside.
