We’ve been hearing a persistent rumor all over the neighborhood that Taverna Kyckades is moving to the corner of 36th St and Ditmars, right across from the Queen’s Room, in this space:

Well, we can finally confirm that this is TRUE from multiple employees at the restaurant and another business owner on the same block!

We’re still waiting to hear back from a manager about exact timing and reasons why, but when calling the restaurant an employee said the move wouldn’t be “for months.” Known for its fantastic fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes, Kyclades is currently located at 33-07 Ditmars, between 33rd and 35th St.

We’ll update you as soon as we hear back from management.

What do you guys think? It will only be just up the block, but with more room maybe the wait won’t be as long? One can hope!

Likely because the acropolis is a failing nightmare of a building and they don’t want to have to close because of their shenanigans

I’d been told that it is somehow actually bigger and that it will prevent the folks waiting outside issue (or at least, the number of folks waiting outside) – as well as folks who DO get inside having to eat with those waiting literally standing on top of them. Food is excellent, service is at times subpar and there are other excellent choices around the area without these issues. I only go during lunch hours, if possible.
