Twitter Facebook Email Print ICYMI, Citi Bike tweeted out last week that the popular bike share program will arrive in Astoria in September/October. DNAinfo reported that the, “Department of Transportation spokesman confirmed that the Astoria expansion is planned for late summer, noting that the timeline is subject to change.” And on top of that, the final map was released for the Astoria Citi Bike stations—it’s been an avalanche of good bike share news lately! We also learned that accessing Citi Bike will be free to all in New York City on Wednesday, August 2! This is due to a promotional partnership between noosa yoghurt and Citi Bike. Citi Bike is currently installed in LIC in Queens. There’s no better way to enjoy summer in New York than on a bike,” said Jules Flynn, Citi Bike General Manager. “Citi Bike is in more neighborhoods than ever before. If you’ve been wanting to give the system a try, the August 2 free ride day is a great time to do it. Many thanks to noosa yoghurt for giving New Yorkers the opportunity to give the blue bikes a spin.” If you want to take advantage of the free ride day, you can sign up online or through the Citi Bike app. You’ll receive a free code to use at any dock in the service area for a half-hour at a time. The noosa Free Day Pass in the app will expire at 11:59pm on August 2.
