Sounds like a tasty menu, which you can see here. From the email: My family and I are opening a new quick service restaurant on 34th Ave, right next to “Sweet Scene” and wanted to share it with your readers. We will be making East Coast Comfort foods (lobster rolls, Philly cheesesteaks, hotdogs, wings and more!). We expect to be open by April 15th and will be giving out plenty of free tastes the days leading open to our launch. The website adds, “East Coast Foodies brings flavors and traditions from New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Maine. The interior reflects the hip sensibilities of the surrounding area while paying tribute to the rich history of these states.” Comfort food is still a big thing these days in NYC, and it’s satisfying to know that a new place is opening up in this location; Mighty Balls eventually couldn’t make it work, I guess. And with all the development happening in this part of Astoria, no doubt there will be plenty of hungry people to chow down on all the variety of food East Coast Foodies will offer. We’ll bring you more info as we get it.
