For those of you following the 10 Actions / 100 Days initiative resulting from the Women’s March, you now have a few local options for getting involved.

The Astoria March team, who organized a well-attended postcard-writing event at The Bonnie a few weeks ago, is holding a number of “huddles” this week and next at Astoria Bookshop. What is a “huddle,” you might ask? According to the Women’s March website, it’s “a small group of people holding an informal conversation” to discuss next steps in their mission to work locally to achieve change nationally.

The Astoria March team held a successful huddle last night, and will be holding another tonight at Astoria Bookshop at 7pm. Space is extremely limited, so if you are interested in attending, be sure to email astoriamarch@gmail.com. Their final two Astoria Bookshop huddles will take place next Wednesday 2/15 and next Thursday 2/16, also at 7pm. Stay up to date with the group’s happenings on their Facebook page here.

If you prefer to huddle with some BBQ and beer, there are also two huddles taking place this Sunday February 12 at The Strand Smokehouse: one at 5pm and one at 6pm. For more information on these two events and to RSVP, check out the official page here and enter your Astoria zip code.

Attendees for all huddles are encouraged to bring a pen, paper, and an open mind.

Are you organizing your own huddle? Tell us, and we’ll update this post accordingly!
