The pop-up music events in Queens keep coming! Today, we’re excited to tell you about Groupmuse, an organization that combines live classical music with a house party-concert vibe. Similar to Sofar Sounds, Groupmuse often hosts their events in living rooms around the country. On Saturday, they’re bringing an all-out extravaganza, or Massivemuse, to Brooklyn Boulders in Long Island City.

On November 5th, the group will shut down Brooklyn Boulders for an insane night with Dzieci Theater Group.  The Groupmuse folks discovered the Dzieci when they caught their BYOB performance of Macbeth inside a shipping container in Bushwick. After that, they were hooked, and immediately booked them for this massivemuse.

Dzieci sounds like a kooky good time. From the official event:

They perform in character, as either medieval fools, traveling Gypsies, or Dustbowl orphans, and fill the room with song, joy, laughter, and perhaps a touch of audience participation. They’re an unbelievably gifted theater troupe who are hopping on board the Groupmuse train for an evening of chorus and play. They’ll be stationed throughout Brooklyn Boulders, hiding amongst the winding walls armed with tricks and voices from the heavens. We’ll drink the night away as we’re transported back through time together.

Tickets are $25, but if you’re an early bird (arriving between 7pm and 9pm) you can enjoy the heavily discounted price of $11 per person. Otherwise, the performance will begin around 9:30 PM, and will wrap up around 11.

Tickets can be purchased here, and the official Facebook event can be found here.

Sounds like a crazy, weird, super-cool event!
