Not long ago, we told you that it was confirmed that Citi Bike is coming to Astoria, and that a series of “town halls will be announced.” Well, the town halls—AKA community planning workshops—are coming, and they will be held at two locations in the next few weeks: Bohemian Hall and PS166.

So mark your calendars: 6pm on Wednesday, October 26 at Bohemian Hall (29-19 24th Avenue), and Thursday, November 3 at 7pm at PS 166 (30-09 35th Avenue). Elected officials will be there, including Councilmen Costa Constantinides and Jimmy Van Bramer, and State Senator Michael Gianaris.

If you feel passionately (and we know many of you do) about bike share—pro or con—we urge you to attend one of these workshops. This is the best time to voice your opinion and let DOT know your thoughts on the Citi Bike plans. For reference, here is the current map so you can see what kinds of places Citi Bike stations are located.

See you at the workshops!
