Attention, vegans! (And all healthy eaters.) If you haven’t been to Beautifully Natural to try their new menu, do yourself a favor and make the trip. Although they’ve been open for about one year, selling healthy grocery items like whole wheat pastas, organic sauces, and natural peanut butter, they’ve just recently debuted their kitchen. When it came to creating the menu, the all-vegan team works hard to squeeze the most nutrition out of every dish. The results are delicious! I stopped by on a Friday evening after work to check out the space and enjoy a few small samples. The current menu is very simple and clean: grain bowls, vegan empanadas, superfood flatbread, soups, and a variety of vegetables. They will eventually be rolling out vegan pizzas and pastas, as well as salads, smoothies, and juices. A simple menu is included below: So how does everything taste? Like your favorite foods, but more nutritious. If you love empanadas (like me!) their vegan version will be satisfying, even without the meat. The filling includes chunky, cruciferous veggies like kale and cabbage, and the whole-grain dumpling has an earthy flavor. The Superfood flatbread, which includes mega-nutritious hemp and spelt, has a sweet, almost nutty taste to it. I took this little baggie home, and thoroughly enjoyed spreading peanut butter on it for a pre-workout snack. Beautifully Natural is a little off the beaten path, (Crescent St between 34th Ave and 35th Ave) but it’s worth the trip if you’re looking for something nutritious and tasty.
