Back by popular demand, the Astoria Where’s Waldo? search kicks off today, courtesy of Astoria Bookshop! Everyone’s favorite bespectacled stripes-wearing traveler will be hiding in twenty-five local businesses, and those who are able to track him down will be eligible for some awesome prizes (and are invited to a sweet party!)

So how does it all work? From Astoria Bookshop:

1) When you spot Waldo at any one of the participating businesses, collect a store stamp (or signature).

2) When you’ve collected at least 10 different store stamps/signatures, bring them to the Astoria Bookshop, your FIND WALDO LOCAL headquarters, to claim an “I Found Waldo” button and a “$1 Off” coupon (limited to first 125 Waldo spotters).

3) If you collect at least 20 of the 25 possible store stamps/signatures, bring your passport to the Astoria Bookshop to get a button and a coupon PLUS be entered in a drawing for a 6-volume deluxe set of Waldo books and other great prizes.

4) Plan to attend the Waldo grand celebration and prize drawing on July 31 at the Astoria Bookshop!

So what’s cool about this year? There are some fun new participants, such as The Geekery, Belief, and Chateau le Woof. And, for kids of ALL ages, there’s a brand new Where’s Waldo? Coloring Book!

One note for all those who plan to search: it is suggested that you call ahead to the venues where Waldo is hiding to confirm hours, especially during these next few holiday weekend days.
