Layer up* and lace up for NYRR’s Open Runs in Astoria Park every Saturday at 9:00 am. Open to all ages, all types of runners, walkers, and strollers (both the kid and walking type!). If your four legged friend has pent up energy or is a little rolly-poly, bring them along-dogs can join the open run fun! Runs are timed so participants can keep track of their progress, and results are posted weekly on Astoria Park’s Facebook group page. The finish line is open until the last person completes the course. Most courses are three laps of the park for a total distance of about three miles. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the run and to leave their valuables at home–bag check is not provide. Registration is a cinch. Arrive early and fill out a waiver. (It takes a few minutes) Once you have signed the waiver, you will be recorded and won’t have to fill one out again (unless changes are made). If you’d like to take your Open Running up a notch, become a volunteer! Register by either emailing OpenRun@nyrr.org or fill out one of the google forms for Astoria Park.
