The World Series is back in Queens! After absolutely dominating the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS, the Mets kick off Game 1 of the World Series tonight at 8:00pm, taking on the American League champion Kansas City Royals.

If you’re a fan of the Amazins, you know what a huge deal this is for the hometown team. Their last World Series title came all the way back in 1986, so the faithful fans of New York are long overdue to see their team go all the way.

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite bars, restaurants, and special events to watch the action. Whether you have a lucky jersey, cap, or pair of blue and orange socks, be sure to rock them at one of these Astoria locations! #LGM!

Halsey’s Tavern

Looks like Mr. Met has been hanging out on Broadway!

Looks like Mr. Met has been hanging out on 31st Ave!

I’ve been a huge fan of Halsey’s Tavern since they opened earlier this year. The laid-back craft beer haven is one of my favorite places to relax and catch a game. They offer an astounding 30 beers in bottles and another 20 on tap, so even the most particular of beer connoisseurs can find something they love. And special bonus for tonight’s game: they’ll be offering 2 for 1 Harpoons all day!

Blackbird’s boasts some of the best bar food in Astoria, hands down. Baseball fans cannot survive on beer alone, and that’s where Blackbird’s excellent eats come in. Choose between Winter Menu items like Chili Potato Skins, Shepherd’s Pie, and Pork Chops, or stick with year-round favorites like The Q18 burger pictured above.

Astoria Tavern

If I could only go to one bar in Astoria... this would be it.

Private event space Melrose Ballroom will be hosting a watch party unlike any other: they’ll be broadcasting the game on the biggest LCD screen in Queens, and offering drink specials and a free buffet. Not your typical baseball game experience, but pretty darn cool!

Okay, obviously we’re in Queens, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give a little love to Kansas City fans! John Brown Smokehouse is THE place to be for all things Royals. Chow down on some of the best BBQ in the neighborhood while catching all the games on their televisions.

How could you leave out Cronin and Phelan at Steinway and Broadway ? They were “Mets Central” back in 1986 when the Orange and Blue last won it all and they still are today. Fine food and traditional Irish hospitality, and a serious Met fan base make it THE gameday destination. Lets Go Mets !!
