It’s no surprise we’re huge fans of Nina and her crew over at Studio Nova, so imagine our delight when we found out they’ve now added an all-organic food truck & cafe to their space. At first, it might seem like an odd fit, but after no time, you’ll find yourself completely charmed by their tented lounge area and delicious menu. Operated and conceived by local Rado Ganev, who you might recognize from his time managing local fave Cafe Bar., No 5 is a delight on 36th Avenue. Rado’s passion for organics is apparent the minute you arrive to 5 at Studio Nova- he told us absolutely everything on his menu, from the tiniest condiment, to their meats, cheeses, and produce is organic. (I can personally vouch for the nectarine/quinoa falafel salad, which was a vegetarian home run!) Expect: smoothies, salads, tartines, and sliders as well as a weekend brunch selection. Prosciutto, fig & gorgonzola tartine If you can’t make it to No5, they’ll bring the food right to you. For now you can get their awesome grub from Broadway to 39th ave/ Northern blvd, Crescent to 50th St. They’re open daily 10am-11pm. In addition to high quality, healthy fare, you’ll find a somewhat secret cafe adjoining the food truck lot which they hope to have fully operational in the next few weeks. Here’s a few sneak peek pics of the space, which plays classic Charlie Chaplin on an old black and white TV set. It has distilled this incredible melting pot of so many ethnicity’s and cultures and created a single malt that has all the flavors that sets us apart from every other neighborhood in the great City. The atmosphere, the staff, and the menu leaves you drooling for more and I was dreading the end of the meal facing the inevitable empty glass. We where delighted with some samples from the menu and my favorites where the MANCHEGO & MUSHROOMS and the Shrimp Tartine which are simply an open faced sandwiches but with the the handmade blend of succulent flavors it brought back all the memories of all the flavors and complexities that ASTORIA has to offer. The Quinoa and ADZUKI & Black Bean sliders where the perfect combination of healthy decadence! I left absolutely starving to see what they come up with as far as desserts and events for the future!!! No5 makes me proud to be ASTORIAN!!!! Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
