Sanford’s is closed for renovations…
Over on Instagram, we’re deep in discussion about Sanford’s temporary closure while they make room for their bigger space & event room. We know lots of you are sad to see this Astoria staple closed, but it sounds like the work could be done by the end of June. Expect double capacity and a whisky bar- one of the largest in Queens- when they reopen later this summer. Sanford’s (30-13 Broadway, Astoria)

We got a sneak peek of their space last week- how pretty is this open air storefront?
Our NYCBCH sources are telling us their Broadway location could be ready as soon as will be open on Monday, June 15th. Expect a mirror image of their 23rd Ave. location, a duplicate menu, and slightly longer hours (6am-11pm). We’re also gaga for their open air store front. I agree that staying open late is a good business decision. Sometimes after work I crave a bagel and Brooklyn bagels is closed :)

It’s smart that New York City Bagel & Coffee House will be open so late. I think there are many of us in the Broadway area that wished Brooklyn Bagel was open in the evenings. There are many evenings where I find myself craving a sandwich on a good bagel.
