Well, it’s finally happened, Time Out New York’s magazine cover proudly boasts, “All Hail The Queens.” Here’s a little preview:

For once, the hype is true: Queens is the city’s hottest borough (that’s right, we said it), and this week, we’re here to help you take advantage of all that it has to offer. From the best new spots to sip a fine cocktail (End of the Century Bar) or grab a steaming bowl of noodles (Mu Ramen), to the borough’s classic haunts (PS1, Neir’s Tavern), we round up the best ways to enjoy the splendor of Queens.

Have you picked up a copy yet? Our previewers tell us it’s little more than a few restaurant reviews and a round up of local comedy hot spots. We’d love to hear your opinion- leave us a comment and let’s get the discussion going!

Time out New York did a piece in astoria in 2002 and within five years astoria started it’s being transformation. Even though I feel like TONY missed the mark with this issue, I think it’s indicatice of what’s to come.

Meh I’m kind of tired of hearing about “Queens is the hottest borough” and yet they really only highlight newer spots in Astoria and fail to note the significance and importance of many locally owned businesses in other neighborhoods as well that need love too.

I live in Astoria and LOVE it, don’t get me wrong- I just think Queens as a whole and its already long existing establishments needs a little more love.

I read this (I still get copies of this from the previous owners of my apt).

They mentioned a couple of places in Astoria. Not really sure if Time Out New York dictates trends though.
