Looks like Greenbay, one of Astoria’s favorite food markets, is expanding across the street (32-19 Broadway). We’ve been eyeing that space, wondering what’s going on, and even reached out to the property owners but we got nada. Glad to now know what’s going on there!

For reference, it used to be a convenience store:

Via Google Maps.

Looks like they’ve done a nice, basic renovation in there—new hardwood floors, tiles, ceiling, and sheetrock for the walls. We’ll see what else we can find out and pass it on to you.

UPDATE, 12/9/14: We’ve learned a few more details on this new location—they’ll be selling various supplements and will have a sandwich bar with some gluten-free options. There will be some space available in the back where you can eat that sandwich, too, which sounds pretty nice. We’ve reached out to the owner to learn more and will being that to you when we hear from them.
