Over on Astorians.com, there’s been some discussion about where Cold Stone Creamery is moving to, and it turns out it will be in that space on the northwest corner of Steinway and 28th Avenue. That space seems to be “cursed”—it’s been a cafe, a Mexican restaurant (Luna de Juarez), and an organic market that’s been closed for months.

This is probably the best time to move, since it’s cold out there (but so much milder than last winter). That said, perhaps they are closer to opening back up than we think (a call to the head office yielded no info and the old phone number is dead)—user on Astorians said, “Saw a guy doing something with the utilities at the store on the corner of 28 and Steinway and asked him what was going in, and he said Coldstone, moving from Broadway.”

The old location on Broadway is for rent and DOB records show no movement right now. That said, it’s a pretty sweet location so no doubt something will find its way into that space. If you know anything, feel free to drop us a line and let us know.

The new Cold Stone opened today. New friendly staff with the same owner. Glad it’s back.
