Italian culture is still very prominent in Astoria, from its food to its festivals, and the Christopher Columbus Day Parade continues to be a celebrated annual event. This year’s parade—the 37th Annual—is happening on Saturday, October 11 at 11 a.m., and you are invited to participate (apply here). Our councilman, Costa Constantinides, will be marching this year, and the Grand Marshall is Min. Natalia Quintavalle of the Italian Counsul General of New York.

The parade route is as follows:

  • Starts at Kaufman Astoria Studios, 34-12 36th Street
  • Head to Steinway Street, where you will head north
  • Left on 30th Avenue
  • Right on 33rd Street
  • Ends at reviewing stand on Astoria Blvd and 31st Street Columbus Triangle (by the Astoria Blvd N/Q stop)
